GROUP ANNOUNCES THE INTRODUCTION OF A MEDIA & ENTERTAIMENT PORTFOLIO
The COVID-19 pandemic has created the largest disruption of education systems in history, affecting nearly 1.6 billion learners in more than 190 countries.
The crisis is exacerbating pre-existing education disparities by reducing the opportunities
for many of the world’s vulnerable children, youth, and adults. Without an education, girls and young women are particularly at risk. Whilst the focus remains on providing academic content, the creative education must not be left behind.
Creativity has become the literacy of our time. It offers a complementary path to share, shape and shift the ongoing conversations about our common futures in a world of pandemics and climate change.
In response to the gaps identified, the Group’s Executive Committee is announcing the creation of a dedicated Media & Entertainment portfolio. This portfolio will focus on digital access to creative education and production and provide a free, sustainable platform to actively engage the world’s creative talents.
“Storytelling is an essential part of the human condition. The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented demand for digital content & storytelling. As a Group, we want to be active in promoting creative talent and provide access – a voice and a place – for them to be heard.”
